INNOVATION

Our approach is camera-first. Rather than relying on layers of external infrastructure, we design and evaluate systems that allow the capture process itself to better understand position, calibration, and optical behavior.

In virtual production environments, this directly translates into improved image stability, cleaner integrations, and reduced on-set friction.

We also actively test and evaluate the latest advancements in artificial intelligence as they relate to virtual production, environment creation, and real-time workflows. These tools are assessed in real production contexts to determine where they meaningfully improve speed, flexibility, or creative control without disrupting established production practices.

Innovation at B79 Studios is driven by real production needs.

Our focus is not experimentation for its own sake, but the development and validation of tools, workflows, and systems thatmake cinematic and virtual production more reliable, more controllable, and easier to operate on active sound stages.

All research and development is validated under real shooting conditions, with an emphasis on stability, repeatability, and consistent, cinema-grade results. The objective is simple: fewer variables on set, greater predictability, and creative freedom without technical compromise.

This work is conducted in collaboration with the Sherbrooke University, through applied research in imaging, computer vision, and real-time systems. When aligned with active productions, B79 Studios is open to supporting testing, experimentation, and select R&D initiatives that push workflows forward.
